Savannah Chrisley faced a swift rebuttal from the hosts of The View recently.
During the Wednesday, February 18, Hot Topics discussion, the cohosts addressed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s awkward response to a question recently posed to her at the Munich Security Conference.
During a segment discussing international affairs, the 36-year-old Democrat was questioned about whether the United States should deploy troops to support Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion. Her hesitation was evident as she took approximately 20 seconds to gather her thoughts before responding.
Following this exchange, The View aired a clip of her response alongside a statement from President Donald Trump, who criticized her by claiming she was unaware of the situation at hand. The show’s hosts were quick to point out that the 79-year-old president himself has had numerous instances of misspeaking or stumbling over his words.
Chrisley, stepping in as a guest host while Alyssa Farah Griffin is on maternity leave, defended Trump by asserting, “Mispronouncing a word is entirely different from lacking a clear stance on Taiwan.”
She further elaborated, emphasizing, “What truly matters is how you recover from a misstep. [Trump] has managed to continue with his speeches and engage with world leaders, indicating that recovery is key.”

When moderator Whoopi Goldberg pointed out that the Apprentice alum is the president of the United States and not just a member of Congress, Chrisley said, “I understand that wholeheartedly. AOC, though, is also the Democrats’ pick for the next election.”
However, Chrisley’s bold prediction seemed to take the rest of the ladies at the table by surprise, with them yelling back “no” and saying they don’t believe that to be true.
While the media has speculated that AOC could run for president in the next election, she has not made any official statements on the matter. She also told the New York Times that she had gone to Munich “not because I’m running for president,” but because she wanted to “sound the alarm bells” about various issues.
In response to Chrisley, Joy Behar said, “You better tell that to Gavin Newsom.” The California governor, 58, has expressed interest in running for president in 2028 and could be a very serious Democratic candidate.
Circling back to AOC’s recent misstep, Goldberg said, “As one who stepped in much poo over the years, you know, it’s just a little message to everybody: None of us is perfect. And this does happen — people stumble.”
