An exciting prehistoric adventure is now streaming as the highly anticipated series “Armorsaurs” premieres today, February 18, on Disney+.

This new series is a fresh take on the popular South Korean show “Armored Saurus,” merging live-action scenes with stunning visual effects to weave a thrilling narrative of survival and mechanical dinosaurs.

“Armorsaurs” centers around a group of five teenagers who possess a unique genetic trait enabling them to bond with dinosaur allies, ranging from a T. rex to velociraptors. Together, they fight to protect Earth from an alien onslaught led by the nefarious Karter Klay, portrayed by the voice of Michael Dorn.

Despite the show’s grand scale, director David Feiss highlighted that the dynamic energy on set was largely fueled by the camaraderie among the cast.

“It was fascinating to work with such enthusiastic individuals who genuinely enjoyed each other’s company,” Feiss shared with On The Red Carpet. “Their eagerness to learn and immerse themselves in their roles—believing they truly had dinosaurs—made the production process almost seamless. It was a real thrill.”

The streaming launch is only the beginning for the brand. Producer Kevin Yi said the goal was to build a world that extends beyond the television screen.

“It’s so cool to be able to have a show, but more than a show, an entire franchise and a world kids can embody, and that’s really what we’re most excited for,” Yi said.

To coincide with the series, MGA Entertainment is releasing a new line of toys in March.

The line features a mix-and-match “Armor-Up” system, 3.75-inch pilots and dinosaurs from the show like Ajax and Cobalt. The toys will be available at Walmart, Target and Amazon.

“‘Armorsaurs’ toys share the same DNA as the ‘Armorsaurs’ TV show. They pair and bond with their teenage pilot heroes,” said Greg Mitchell, vice president of brand marketing at MGA Entertainment.

Avianna Mynhier, who portrays pilot Paloma Silva, said she hopes that connection resonates with the families watching at home.

“Stepping into people’s living rooms is a big responsibility; it’s a big honor,” Mynhier said. “I hope our show can live up to the intelligence of how smart kids are these days, and excite them and their parents alike.”

Jailen Bates, who stars as lead pilot Liam Roberts, agreed that joining the franchise felt like a milestone.

“It was very much this feeling of responsibility to kind of carry on this next generation of incredible superhero fighting against aliens,” Bates said. “It was incredibly surreal and the honor of my life so far.”

With a second season already confirmed and production underway, “Armorsaurs” is available to stream on Disney+ now.
