A tragic incident in Allen County, Kentucky, has led to murder charges against a 17-year-old boy after authorities discovered a woman and her 12-year-old son deceased in their home.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Wednesday concerning a “domestic assault” and subsequently found two victims at the scene. Shortly thereafter, a suspect was taken into custody, though the sheriff’s office did not release additional details about the apprehension.
The investigation, now led by the Kentucky State Police, revealed that the suspect is a 17-year-old who was arrested and charged following the grim discovery of 42-year-old Traci Trasky and her child inside the residence. Trasky’s vehicle was reported missing but was later located abandoned several miles from the home.
According to state police, the suspect was spotted fleeing through nearby woods and was ultimately captured after a brief foot chase.
State police said the suspect was seen running through the woods nearby and was taken into custody following a foot pursuit.
He’s been charged with two counts of murder, tampering with physical evidence, auto theft, and fleeing or evading police.
The suspect has not been publicly named. Trooper Katan Parker told WNKY that Trasky was the mother of the murdered 12-year-old.
