In a key development for Danville, Illinois, the city’s efforts to address the void left by the closure of CRIS Rural Transit have gained momentum. The city recently acquired nine new buses from the state, marking a significant step forward, as announced at the city council meeting on Tuesday night.
Despite this progress, Mayor Rickey Williams highlighted that several challenges remain before Danville can fully assume the role of Vermilion County’s sole rural transit provider.
