Jill Zarin recently faced significant backlash after a comment she made about a well-known singer’s “facelift” sparked accusations of hypocrisy. Her remarks quickly drew criticism, as many pointed out that Zarin, a former “Real Housewives” star, appears noticeably different from her earlier days. The controversy comes amid what seemed to be a promising start to Zarin’s February 2026, with news of her involvement in a “Real Housewives of New York” spinoff called “The Golden Life.” However, her public critique of Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl performance soon overshadowed this announcement.

On February 8, 2025, Zarin took to Instagram to express her disapproval of Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language halftime show. In the video, she called it the “worst halftime show ever,” accusing the NFL of “selling out” and lamenting the absence of “white people” in the performance. She also mentioned Lady Gaga, seemingly unaware of her ethnicity, saying, “Lady Gaga got a facelift — I didn’t recognize her! I literally had to Google her face to see who it was,” as reported by X.

Although Zarin quickly removed the video, the repercussions were swift and severe. The backlash led to her being dropped from the “Real Housewives” spinoff, a situation that might have felt familiar for Zarin, who was previously let go from “The Real Housewives of New York” in 2011.
Fans were not only upset with Zarin’s comments about Bad Bunny’s performance but also her jab at Lady Gaga’s alleged cosmetic surgery. “How is she gonna talk about Lady Gaga’s face when she’s out here looking like The Joker?” one user commented on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another user remarked, “You’re one to talk about botched facelifts,” referencing Zarin’s own history with cosmetic enhancements.
Besides her MAGA-centric view of Bad Bunny’s halftime show, fans were upset that Zarin shot a stray at Lady Gaga for allegedly going under the knife. “How is she gonna talk about Lady Gaga’s face when she’s out here looking like The Joker?” one person wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while another tweeted, “You’re one to talk about botched facelifts.” This wasn’t the only time Zarin was roasted for her facelift.

The criticism continued to escalate on X, where users were even more scathing. One commentator jokingly suggested that Zarin’s facial procedures might soon have unintended consequences, quipping, “[T]hat s*** is going to snapback so fiercely in 3 months she’s going to look like a basset hound.” Another user harshly critiqued her appearance, implying that her surgeon had been overly aggressive. As the digital sphere continues to roast Zarin, she might be wishing she could trade places with a less controversial figure.
That was likely not the only time Zarin had serious work done on her face. In October 2025, she posted a seemingly innocuous Instagram Reel of herself, which inadvertently made it clear that, in the list of “Real Housewives” whose looks have changed the most, Zarin sits near the top of the list. Even her fans on Instagram politely noted how different she seemed after possible plastic surgery. “Wow— that does not even look like your face anymore. Not bad, just an entirely different face,” one wrote, with another adding, “I’m watching RHONY from the beginning…you look fab in this but I honestly didn’t recognize you.”
Of course, people were a little crueler on X, where the clip was shared. The Twitterati eviscerated Zarin for going overboard with the cosmetic procedures, with one person joking, “[T]hat s*** is going to snapback so fiercely in 3 months she’s going to look like a basset hound.” Another person opined, “[O]h my god that surgeon put his foot on the back of Jill Zarin’s neck and yanked her so hard she became Heather McDonald.” Zarin probably wishes she were McDonald, or anyone else, at this point.
