Aldi shoppers across the nation should be aware of a recent recall affecting their stores. Bremer-branded “family size Italian style meatballs,” sold in 32-ounce bags, have been pulled from shelves due to a contamination alert.
In a recall announcement made on February 22, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) stated that nearly 9,500 pounds of these ready-to-eat meatballs, produced by Rosina Food Products, Inc., are being recalled after a consumer discovered metal fragments in the product.
The affected meatballs were distributed to Aldi locations throughout the United States. These fully cooked, frozen meatballs carry a “best buy” date of October 30, 2026. In total, 9,462 pounds of the product are subject to this recall.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries linked to this issue. However, FSIS advises consumers with health concerns to seek guidance from a medical professional. Stay informed and check your freezer if you have purchased these meatballs recently.
There have been no reported injuries connected to this recall. The FSIS encouraged anyone with health concerns to contact their doctor.
Customers are urged to throw the meatballs away or return them to the Aldi store they purchased them from. The recall alert does not mention if customers will be given a refund.
Recalled products will have establishment number “EST. 4286B” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the label.
