HAMPTON COUNTY, S.C. — After being charged with the fatal shooting of a man over the weekend, a 17-year-old suspect from Hampton County did not receive bail on Monday, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the sheriff’s office.

Amir Terrion Singleton, a resident of Garnett, faces charges of murder and possessing a firearm during the execution of a violent act.

Authorities reported that Singleton surrendered to law enforcement following the deadly shooting of 31-year-old Geordi Pringle from Hardeeville.

Responding to a shooting report on Saturday, deputies from the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office discovered Pringle with a gunshot wound at a residence on Grant Hill Road in the Scotia area, according to a spokesperson from the HCSO.

Tragically, Pringle was declared dead at the scene.

Following Singleton’s arrest, he was transported to the Hampton County Detention Center.

A hearing was held on Monday, officials said, at which no bond was given.

“This is a tragic situation that has affected multiple families and our community,” Sheriff Anthony Russell said. “We are committed to conducting a thorough and complete investigation. I want to thank all agencies who provided assistance.”

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
