Since the start of the year, New South Wales has reported a total of 21 confirmed measles cases.
Health officials have issued new exposure warnings for dates between Wednesday, February 18, and Saturday, February 21. Consequently, individuals who visited the affected sites are advised to remain vigilant for symptoms until March 11.
Authorities have identified eight additional exposure sites, primarily located in the Central Business District and Inner West areas.
Affected venues include Rivaereno Gelato at Barangaroo, where exposure occurred from 7:40 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday, February 19, and The Stinking Bishops Restaurant & Deli in Newtown, with exposure from 7 pm to 9 pm on Friday, February 20.
Furthermore, new exposure locations have been reported in Lismore, situated in the northern part of the state, alongside several ongoing exposure sites in Western Sydney.
Symptoms of measles, which include fever, runny nose, cough, and a red, blotchy rash after three to four days, can take up to 18 days to appear.
“This is especially important before overseas travel, as measles outbreaks are occurring in several regions of the world at the moment,” she added.
