Snoop Dogg made a striking debut in Swansea this week, leaving a lasting impression on the city during his inaugural visit.
The legendary rapper from America recently became a minority stakeholder in the Welsh football club, having joined in July. On Tuesday evening, he marked his first appearance at the Swansea.com Stadium, witnessing a 1-1 draw between Swansea City and Preston North End.
Before the match, Swansea fans warmly welcomed Snoop Dogg with a seven-minute lap of honor, an event filled with the enthusiastic waving of towels—a familiar tradition in American sports arenas.
Snoop also performed at an exclusive event for Au Vodka employees, held in the company’s canteen in Swansea.
Just the day before, the canteen had been a casual space for games of ping pong and pool. However, it was transformed into a nightclub, hosting over 400 guests for the special occasion.

Among the guests at the event were Welsh boxer Joe Cordina and former Swans striker Lee Trundle.
His surprise appearance was expected to be a 30-minute DJ set but he soon grabbed the mic to perform his own iconic tracks.
Videos on social media show Snoop Dogg performing 1993 song Murder Was the Case, 2003 hit Beautiful and 2006 track I Wanna Love You – plus many more.
In the end his set lasted almost an hour as he ran through his catalogue before London-based DJ AG took to the stage.
The appearance came about through Au Vodka co-owner and DJ Charlie Sloth, who labelled it an ‘honour’.
Fellow co-owner Jackson Quinn said: ‘It was amazing to see him in the flesh and what a show he put on for us.
‘This is a massive moment for the city and a testament to how far this brand has come.
‘What started as a scheduled 30-minute DJ set turned into a legendary night that no one at Au Vodka HQ will ever forget.
‘We were shocked when Snoop Dogg decided to scrap the script; instead of just DJing for 30mins, he delivered the craziest live performance that lasted nearly an hour!
‘The energy was electric, Snoop played us all the classics back-to-back it was like living in a dream!
‘This was a legend who was performing in the Super Bowl half time show not too long ago and now he’s performing in our office.
‘Having such a global icon take over our headquarters was truly a bucket list moment we will never forget.’
Following Tuesday’s draw with Preston, Swansea boss Vitor Matos said the rapper was ‘really happy’ and came into the home-team dressing room post-match.

Swansea boss Matos said: ‘After the game he came to the dressing room and spoke with the players.
‘He’s someone that likes to be involved, not only with us but with the (United States) Olympic team as well.
‘He loves sports, loves sports people. He loves the club, loves the city, and wants to be here.
‘I think that’s all positive and he was really happy because he felt that the team had the right mentality. He felt that the team could push.’
Swansea’s late point took them up one place to 14th and eight points from Wrexham, who are occupying the final play-off spot.
Matos said: ‘When you are losing you usually start having frustration, things not going the right way. But I think we didn’t have that and that was good to see.
‘We always kept the momentum, even when we would miss a pass or there was a situation where things didn’t go in our way.
‘But then we came back again with a good spell and we got a really good goal from Liam. So we got one point and let’s move on.’
Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom downplayed the occasion and atmosphere created by Snoop Dogg’s walkabout before kick-off.
Heckingbottom joked that the only difference to other Championship games was the smell of illicit drugs, with Snoop Dogg having built a public persona around his copious marijuana intake.
‘It’s only different for people who are here every week, isn’t it?’ Heckingbottom said.
‘We don’t play at Swansea every week, so it’s no different for us.
‘We go away to Ipswich the other week, they were at it, their fans were at it, and that was noise all game. I felt we kept everyone quiet here until the end.’
