DES PLAINES, Ill. (WGN) — In a suburban area near Chicago, two day care employees have been charged with assaulting several young children, as confirmed by officials on Tuesday.
The alleged incidents of battery took place at A Mother’s Touch Daycare, located in northwest suburban Des Plaines, between November 3 and November 19 of the previous year. It wasn’t until November 20 that the day care management discovered an incident involving a child reportedly being sprayed with water in the face. This led to an immediate investigation, during which surveillance footage was reviewed, resulting in the suspension of both staff members involved.
Following the internal probe, authorities reported that further examination of the video footage purportedly showed both employees engaging in assaults against the children.
In total, seven boys, aged 4 to 5 years, were allegedly subjected to these attacks. Consequently, two women are now facing multiple charges of battery.

Jesica Murillo, a 36-year-old resident of Chicago, has been charged with three felony counts of aggravated battery along with 12 misdemeanor battery charges.
Allegations against Murillo include slapping a child multiple times, hitting a child in the face with a notebook and dragging a 4-year-old boy across the floor, causing a head injury.
Izabella Thompson, 23, of Chicago, faces four misdemeanor counts of battery.
Murillo was due in court on Wednesday. Thompson will appear in court on Monday, March 30.
