Survivor is celebrating a significant achievement with its 50th season.
Titled Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans, the season kicks off tonight, February 25, with an extended three-hour finale.
This milestone season brings back 24 former Survivor contestants for an all-star showdown. Among the returning players is Jenna Lewis-Dougherty, a participant from the inaugural season. Joining her are Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth, who has competed in four seasons, and Mike White, the acclaimed writer, director, and creator of The White Lotus. White, who is a three-time Emmy winner, first joined Survivor in 2018.
What makes ‘Survivor 50’ unique is its interactive approach, allowing fans to influence aspects of the show. Since last year, CBS has opened up voting on various elements, such as selecting the colors of the tribal buffs and deciding whether the finale should be broadcast live.

It’s also giving fans a say in what happens. Beginning last year, CBS opened fan voting on a number of topics, like what color the different tribal buffs would be and if the finale should be taped live.
Famous fans, including musicians Zac Brown and Billie Eilish, Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, and social media personality MrBeast are also set to appear throughout the season as celebrity fans who may impact the game.
Survivor 50 Premiere Time
Survivor 50 premieres tonight, Feb. 25, at 8 p.m. ET.
Tonight’s season premiere will be a special three-hour episode, but new episodes following tonight’s, which air weekly on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, will run for 90 minutes.

If you’re a Paramount+ Premium ($13.99/month) subscriber, you’ll be able to watch episodes live as they air thanks to the local CBS live stream. Paramount+ Essential ($8.99/month) subscribers will have to wait until Thursday mornings to watch new episodes of Survivor.

Survivor 50 was filmed on the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji. The archipelago has served as the filming location for every Survivor season since 2016’s Season 33
