The footage, sourced from university security cameras, captures the unsuspecting vehicles as they approach an intersection side-by-side. Moments later, a third vehicle, a pickup truck, pulls up behind them. This seems to be the catalyst for the sudden and alarming collapse of the road.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene at the crossroads of 67th and Pacific streets, with teams arriving around 3:30 p.m., as reported by local station WOWT. Despite the chaos, by the time the authorities reached the site, the occupants of the vehicles had already managed to escape the gaping hole.
This incident highlights the unpredictability of infrastructure failures and the importance of timely emergency response, ensuring that a potentially tragic situation resulted in no casualties.
