A representative for the 45-year-old has confirmed that she, along with her husband Clarke Gayford, has commenced work in Australia.
“The family has been on the move for several years now,” the representative mentioned.
“For the time being, they are establishing their base in Australia,” the spokesperson added.
“Their work commitments are there, and it conveniently allows them more opportunities to return to New Zealand.”
The spokesperson did not specify the duration of their stay in Australia or provide details about their work activities.
The 45-year-old became prime minister of New Zealand in 2017.
She resigned from her role six years later in 2023.
She has since spent time abroad in the US, where she took up dual fellowships at the Harvard Kennedy School.
She was appointed as a trustee of the Prince William’s environment award the Earthshot Prize the same year.
Ardern released her memoir A Different Kind of Power in June last year.
