Exclusive to Fox: A Venezuelan national was taken into custody after arriving at a U.S. Border Patrol office in Florida for an IT contract job, authorities have confirmed.
Angel Camacho, the individual in question, went to the U.S. Border Patrol facility in Dania Beach, Florida, on January 6 to fulfill an information technology contract. During routine checks, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel discovered his unauthorized immigration status, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as reported by Fox News Digital.
Further investigation revealed that Camacho was breaching U.S. immigration regulations, leading to his arrest, officials stated.

Camacho was apprehended at the U.S. Border Patrol site in Florida while attempting to perform contracted IT work, confirmed a DHS representative.
Lauren Bis, DHS Deputy Assistant Secretary, remarked in a statement, “CBP conducts thorough evaluations of all external visitors before granting access to secure facilities to maintain safety and operational security.”
“During the vetting process, CBP uncovered this individual was a tourist visa overstay in the country for over 5 years,” she added.Â

Camacho was arrested and transferred to ICE custody, Bis said.Â
His criminal history includes theft and resisting a Florida Highway Patrol officer, officials said. Federal authorities have nabbed several illegal immigrants who were in the process of trying to obtain employment in law enforcement and education.Â
One Sierra Leone citizen was recently arrested as he was training to become a Pennsylvania corrections officer.Â
Another illegal immigrant, Ian Roberts, served as the former superintendent of Iowa’s largest district, Des Moines Public Schools, before he was arrested by ICE.Â
