Ronic West, honored with the Mary L. Jones Black Affirmation Award this February, co-founded the Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce. She remains dedicated to driving progress and supporting Black enterprises in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).

West, alongside her committed team, has significantly influenced the CSRA. Her primary goal is to reciprocate the community’s generosity, which has profoundly shaped her journey.

“Initially, I moved to Augusta with the intention of settling my daughter here temporarily,” West explains. “However, I discovered a sense of family and realized I could establish a nonprofit organization. While I was rooted in corporate America, the community recognized potential in me that I hadn’t seen myself. This inspired me to give back. Through the chamber and our foundation, we’ve achieved much, though it requires considerable effort.”

The Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce serves as a vital link between businesses, the community, and governmental bodies for local entrepreneurs.
