LOS ANGELES — The Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, highlighted remarkable accomplishments in both film and television on Sunday evening, with numerous Oscar hopefuls among the night’s prominent victors.
The ensemble from “Sinners” clinched the prestigious Actor Award for outstanding cast performance in a motion picture. The film’s leading man, Michael B. Jordan, also took home the award for his compelling portrayal of twins.
During his acceptance speech, Jordan reminisced about his early days in the industry and expressed heartfelt gratitude to his mother for her numerous sacrifices.
“Mom, I owe you for all those trips to New York when we struggled to afford the Holland Tunnel or when gas money was hard to come by,” he shared.
Jessie Buckley was awarded the Actor for her leading role in “Hamnet.” In the supporting categories, Sean Penn was recognized for his work in “One Battle After Another,” while Amy Madigan received accolades for her role in “Weapons.”
Madigan joked about the trophy she was holding, saying, “It was like when you were little and you had the Barbie, and then you got Ken, and then you whipped down his drawers, and you went, ‘Ken has nothing.’”
On the television side, “The Studio” dominated the comedy categories, winning best ensemble as well as acting honors for Seth Rogen and the late Catherine O’Hara.

Rogen praised O’Hara in his acceptance speech on her behalf, saying, “And she really showed that you can be a genius and be kind, and one of those things doesn’t have to come at the expense of the other in any way, shape or form.”
Keri Russell won the Actor for her performance in “The Diplomat,” while Noah Wyle was recognized for his role in “The Pitt,” which also won ensemble in a drama series.
“What I appreciate is there’s room on television for every kind of hospital show,” Wyle said. “You can have one as broad comedy as Scrubs and hard-hitting and realistic as ‘The Pitt.’”
The ceremony carried added emotion as Harrison Ford accepted the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award.
“I’m, indeed, a lucky guy,” Ford said onstage. “Lucky to have found my people, lucky to have work that challenges me, lucky to still be doing it. And I don’t take that for granted.”
“If you see me in a film, I’m being propped up by the other actors, by the writing, by everybody that works on the set. I don’t work alone. Nobody does,” he said on the red carpet.
With awards season nearing its end, the final major ceremony ahead is the Oscars, set for Sunday, March 15.
