Charli XCX’s ‘The Moment’ Hits Digital Platforms: Find Out When It Arrives on HBO Max

The wait is over for fans of Charli XCX—her film, The Moment, is set to hit digital platforms for purchase.

Aidan Zamiri directed the film, co-writing the screenplay with Bertie Brandes, inspired by Charli XCX’s own concept. The Moment is a mockumentary where Charli portrays a fictionalized version of herself, blending fact with fiction in a way that resonates with her real-life experiences.

In this film, the acclaimed British pop star plays a version of herself preparing for a tour following the success of her 2024 album, Brat. Charli XCX has expressed that the film’s inspiration stemmed from the pressure to create a traditional concert documentary, leading her to opt for a satirical take instead. The movie features a talented ensemble cast including Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, and Alexander Skarsgård. After its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, The Moment garnered a range of reviews.

Though the film enjoyed a stint in theaters, many fans missed the opportunity to catch it on the big screen. Fortunately, The Moment is now heading to digital platforms. While it costs about $25, it’s expected to stream on HBO Max later this summer, providing another viewing option for Charli’s dedicated supporters.

Where to watch the Charli XCX movie The Moment on streaming:

Currently, The Moment is not available for digital rental, and details about a DVD release have yet to be announced.

The Moment is not currently available to stream on any subscription-based services, but the film will eventually be coming to streaming, on HBO Max, thanks to the 2023 deal between A24 and Warner Bros. Discovery, which brings A24’s previous and upcoming theatrical releases to the streaming service HBO Max.

If you’re new to HBO Max, you can sign up for as low as $10.99/month with ads, but an ad-free subscription will cost $18.49/month.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the discounted Disney+ Bundles with Hulu and HBO Max. With ads, the bundle costs $19.99/month and without ads, $32.99/month.

When will Charli XCX’s The Moment movie be streaming on HBO Max?

You might see The Moment streaming on HBO Max around early June 2026.

The Moment movie streaming release date on HBO Max has not yet been announced, but we can make an educated guess as to when you can expect to see The Moment on HBO Max.

The A24 deal is a “Pay-1 deal,” which means A24 movies will start streaming on HBO Max in the “Pay 1 window,” meaning that HBO Max will be the first “TV channel” to pay for the rights to The Moment, after the film has been released on digital and home media. One recent A24 title, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, began streaming on HBO Max a little over four months after its release in theaters, and about three months after its release on digital.

If The Moment follows a similar release strategy, you might see the Charli XCX movie The Moment streaming on HBO Max in about three months, around early June 2026.

This is all speculation. The A24 digital and streaming releases have varied by title. If you want to watch The Moment right away, you can buy a digital copy starting tomorrow.
