MACON COUNTY, Ill. — In the early hours of Monday, a serious collision involving four vehicles on Interstate 72 in Macon County resulted in seven individuals being hospitalized.

The incident took place near mile marker 149, roughly one mile west of the Argenta exit. The Argenta-Oreana Fire Department led the emergency response. Fire Chief Kurt Michener shared on Facebook that the initial call came in at 12:07 a.m., reporting a crash involving three vehicles.
