(NEXSTAR) – Papa Johns is set to shut down several hundred of its less successful outlets by the conclusion of 2027, with approximately 200 targeted for closure in 2026 alone.
During a recent earnings call, Ravi Thanawala, the North American CFO and President of Papa Johns, disclosed the company’s strategy for “selective closures.”
“Most of our global restaurants have historically performed well, providing solid returns for both our corporate and franchise partners,” Thanawala stated. “However, we’ve pinpointed roughly 300 locations across North America that are not living up to our brand standards, lack a viable path to financial sustainability, or are situated where sales can be effectively redirected to nearby outlets.”
