AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Richmond County School System (RCSS) has officially opened registration for the 2026–2027 Pre-K lottery, as announced on Monday.
Families with Georgia children turning four years old on or before September 1, 2026, are encouraged to submit applications up until April 13.
Applications must be completed online by visiting rcboe.org/registration.
RCSS has shared that the upcoming fall will see free, Georgia Lottery-funded Pre-K classes available at 25 elementary schools. Each class will accommodate up to 20 children, guided by a lead teacher and an assistant, and will provide a full day of instruction that includes breakfast, lunch, and rest time.
“Our play-based curriculum fosters exploration and discovery, aligning with our strategy to enhance early literacy and numeracy skills,” the RCSS statement highlights.
