Israel vows to assassinate successor to Iran’s Ayatollah
by Eliana Silver
In a bold statement, Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has issued a stark warning to Iran, vowing that any figure appointed to replace the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei—who was reportedly killed in joint US-Israeli operations in Tehran—will face assassination.
The announcement follows reports that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the deceased Ayatollah, has stepped into the role of Iran’s Supreme Leader.
Taking to social media platform X, Katz declared, “Anyone chosen by Iran’s terrorist regime to further their agenda against Israel, threaten the US, undermine global security, or oppress Iranian citizens will be targeted for elimination, regardless of their identity or location.”
Mojtaba, at 56 years old and the second eldest son of Ali Khamenei, is reportedly deeply entrenched with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). His selection was allegedly influenced by pressure from the Revolutionary Guards, as reported by the Iranian opposition outlet Iran International.
