The unexpected cancellation of the Kyle & Jackie O Show on Tuesday night has prompted a heartfelt response from a lead producer.

Since 2018, Jaimee ‘Mayo’ Blazquez has been a key producer and occasional presenter for the KIIS FM breakfast program. On Thursday, she took to social media to express her sorrow over the show’s sudden end.

Accompanying a series of photos highlighting joyful moments with her former co-hosts, Kyle Sandilands, 54, and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 51, Mayo shared her emotional reflections.

“I’m at a loss for words and utterly devastated by the recent events,” Mayo began in her post.

She continued, “Working on this show was a lifelong dream, and having the chance to produce the Kyle & Jackie O Show for the last nine years has been an incredible honor.”

‘We weren’t just a show but we were a family, so to see it end like this is heartbreaking.’

Mayo added that she would like to remember the good times she shared with Kyle and Jackie O, rather than focusing on its sad ending.

‘While everyone likes to give their two cents about what’s happened, let’s just remember the legacy KJ have left and how many people they’ve inspired,’ she wrote.

‘Thought I’d post some photos from our trip to France when some of the team crashed Kyle’s honeymoon.

‘These are some of the memories I’ll hold forever. Thanks KJ for everything, hope to work with you guys again in the future!’

It comes after a former radio producer made a sobering prediction about the future of Sandilands and Henderson in the wake of their shock breakfast show collapse.

ARN announced on Tuesday that Henderson’s $100 million contract had been terminated after she told executives she ‘cannot continue to work with Mr Kyle Sandilands’ following his harsh comments on air that left her in tears.

Sandilands has also been suspended and given 14 days to remedy the breach, otherwise facing termination, while Henderson has been offered the possibility of hosting an alternative show on the network.

Christian Hull, who was previously a national digital producer for Southern Cross Austereo, weighed in on the drama on Wednesday, claiming the pair’s professional and personal relationship, is unlikely to recover.

Taking to TikTok, Hull, 39, who has worked with the likes of Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, and Em Rusciano and Harley Breen, dismissed suggestions that the fracas was a mere publicity stunt to bolster ratings.

‘For those wondering if The Kyle & Jackie O Show is just doing a publicity stunt, I can pretty much guarantee that this is the end of the show,’ Christian said.

‘The show is over, it’s done. I don’t think you’ll ever see Kyle and Jackie in a room talking to each other again.’

The Kyle & Jackie O Show collapsed on Tuesday amid a high-profile feud between hosts Henderson and Sandilands.

ARN provided written notice to Sandilands stating that it considers his behaviour during the show on February 20 ‘an act of serious misconduct which is in breach of ARN’s services agreement with Quasar Media’.

The KIIS breakfast show was taken off-air immediately, with ‘interim arrangements made for the show’.

ARN has offered Henderson the possibility of an alternative show on the network.

Henderson had been AWOL from the show since Friday, 20 February, after Sandilands accused her of being unfocused at work.
