Ant McPartlin has been humorously called ‘icky’ by his close friend Dec Donnelly after Ant divulged some rather personal insights about his relationship with his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett.
The two friends were in the midst of a conversation about Harry Styles’ latest album, “Kiss All The Time Disco Occasionally,” when Ant shared a revelation that made Dec squirm.
During their Thursday podcast, “Hanging Out,” Ant remarked, “I do kiss a lot, you know, just like the album title suggests. I really enjoy it. It’s one of my favorite things, but just with my wife, not with a bunch of people.”
Dec pulled a face at Ant’s comment, glancing at the camera with a grimace before jokingly turning to Ant and quipping, “Thought you were going to plant one on me there.”
Ant continued to express his fondness for kissing, noting that it only gets better with age, and questioned why Dec was looking so uncomfortable.
‘I find this a bit icky. Just keep it for the bedroom.,’ Dec said.
Ant McPartlin has been branded ‘icky’ by his best friend Dec Donelly after sharing very personal details about his intimate life with wife Anne-Marie Corbett
Dec scrunched his face up at the comment, grimacing at the camera before turning to Ant and saying: ‘Thought you were gonna stick one on us there’
Ant tied the knot with his wife Anne-Marie, his ex-wife Lisa Armstrong’s assistant, in August 2021 at St Michael’s Church in Heckfield, Hampshire.
Talking about his love of kissing, he said: ‘I like kissing we should kiss more. Not me and you. People should just kiss. Kissing’s great isn’t it. Isn’t kissing great? Isn’t it though?Â
‘Think of the first kiss you ever had, and the kisses got better as you got older. It’s great.’
Dec went on to say: ‘Keep it for the kitchen or wherever you do it but don’t broadcast it to everybody!’
‘Kissing?!’ Ant said in shock, as Dec added: ‘It’s a bit icky.’
It comes after the pair revealed why they would never host the BRIT Awards again – and have hinted at having ‘beef’ with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
And and Dec have hosted the ceremony three times – 2001, 2015, and 2016 – but they have no desire to do it again.Â
Speaking on their podcast, Ant shared that the reason the pair decided ‘never again’ is because everyone just wants to get drunk and have fun, which makes hosting a challenge.Â
He went on to say that as host you’re always promised that stars will give you an interview mid-show but they tend to change their mind right before going live.Â
The longtime friends were discussing Harry Styles’ new album, Kiss All The Time Disco Occasionally, when Ant ‘icked’ out Dec with the admission
One band who they called out for this in particular for this was Coldplay – which Dec went on to joke was ‘the beginning of Ant’s beef with Chris Martin’.
‘You not hosting it? Dec asked about this Saturday’s BRITs, to which Ant laughed and replied: ‘No I’m not, are you? Three times. Never again.’Â
Ant continued: ‘I should never say never, because it’s, a weird thing to host.’
Later Ant revealed why they don’t want to host again as he said: ‘It’s a fun night if you’re nominated. It’s a fun night, not necessarily, if you’re hosting it, though, because everybody in the room just wants to get drunk and have a good time.
‘Yet you’re trying to wrangle the whole crowd, and you’re also trying to present the TV show, and also all the artists and bands who said they would happily do an interview with you before the show starts, always change their mind.Â
‘They’ll say “Down in the middle of the show Coldplay are going to do an interview with you”. You’re like “Great it’s going to be a great show”. And then come to the night, like, 10 minutes before you go live, they say, “Hmm Coldplay don’t really want to do an interview before they perform”.’
‘This is the start of Ant’s beef with Chris Martin,’ Dec said, to which Ant was quick to jump in with: ‘I don’t have beef.’
