In a dramatic turn of events, a protester named McGinnis loudly voiced his opinion, laying the blame for the ongoing conflict squarely on Israel’s shoulders. “Israel is the reason for this war,” he exclaimed, adding, “America does not want to fight this war for Israel.”
His passionate outcry continued, emphasizing a sentiment of reluctance among Americans. “America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel,” he declared, capturing the attention of those present.
In response to his protest, three Capitol Police officers swiftly moved in, attempting to remove McGinnis from the premises. Senator Tim Sheehy also intervened, lending a hand to the officers in their efforts to escort him out of the room.
The officers were joined by Senator Tim Sheehy, who joined them in trying to pull him away.
During the altercation, it appears McGinnis’ arm became wedged in the door.
As they pulled him out, his forearm can be seen and heard breaking.
“I decided to help out and de-escalate the situation,” Sheehy said in a statement.
“This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one.Â
“I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.”
“Protests are not allowed inside the Congressional Buildings,” a statement from Capitol Police read.
“There are plenty of other spots on Capitol Grounds, outside, where demonstrations are allowed.”
He now works as a firefighter.
Tim Sheehy himself is a former Navy SEAL who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But a National Park report said he had instead been shot in the arm while trying to reload a gun in Montana.
