A Kentucky resident is facing DUI charges after allegedly attempting to flee the scene following a car crash into a restaurant.

Alexis Calvillo, 29, is currently held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. Authorities report that on the evening of February 28, he drove his vehicle into Kiwami Ramen restaurant in Louisville. As per documentation obtained by local Fox station WDRB, the impact resulted in the front of his car being torn off and struck a table occupied by four individuals, including a pregnant woman.

Following the incident, Calvillo reportedly exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away. Upon intervention by police, he allegedly threatened them, saying, “I’m going to kill you.”

Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department noted a “strong odor of alcohol” emanating from Calvillo, who allegedly slurred his speech while making further threats. A search of his vehicle revealed an open beer bottle on the passenger-side floorboard.

Calvillo faces multiple charges, including DUI, four counts of wanton endangerment, leaving the accident scene, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and terroristic threatening, among other vehicle-related offenses. He remains in custody with bail set at $7,500, and his court appearance is slated for March 10.

The owners of Kiwami Ramen confirmed that none of the staff or patrons were harmed, but the crash destroyed the side of the building and the business remains closed. Another Louisville-based Facebook account, Louisville StrEatery, posted photos of the aftermath and called for locals to support the staff and business while they work to reopen.
