Inter Miami celebrated a landmark victory, capturing their first-ever championship just two and a half years since the legendary Argentinian player, Lionel Messi, joined the South Florida team.

With this victory, Inter Miami joins an exclusive group as the 16th team in MLS’s 30-year history to clinch the title. The league has seen a remarkable level of competition, with five different teams winning the championship over the past five years and eight teams capturing the title in the last nine seasons. Notably, only Columbus has managed to win it twice during this period.

The team’s visit to Washington, D.C., coincides with a busy agenda at the White House, as President Trump announced the removal of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem amid ongoing military strikes on Iran.

Inter Miami became the 16th franchise in the league’s 30-year history to win an MLS title, extending a run of parity for MLS, which has seen five different franchises win championships in the last five years and eight franchises claim a title in the last nine seasons only Columbus has won twice in that span.

The team’s arrival in Washington, D.C., comes on a busy day at the White House as Trump removed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and strikes on Iran continue.
