NEW YORK (WPIX) — Thousands of users reported outages with multiple Amazon services on Thursday.

Over 20,000 Amazon users, along with thousands of Amazon Web Services and Prime Video users, reported outages around 2:30 p.m., according to DownDetector.

DownDetector’s outage map showed hotspots in major cities around the U.S.

New York, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle were all included.

Roughly half of the reported issues stemmed from the checkout process at 55%. Roughly one-third of issues were reported for product pages and the mobile app.

On Monday, three Amazon Web Services facilities in the Middle East were damaged during Iranian drone strikes in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, disrupting multiple services.

Amazon did not say there was a direct correlation between the drone strikes and the outages on Thursday.

Amazon’s Help department replied to multiple complaints on X with the message: “We’re sorry that some customers may be experiencing issues. We appreciated your patience as we work to resolve the issue.”
