A man from Iowa, Ivan Miller, 22, has been charged with the murder of three women in Utah, reportedly confessing to authorities that his motive was to steal their vehicles and cash.

The victims, ranging in age from their 30s to 80s, were allegedly killed by Miller, who now faces three counts of aggravated murder. Two of the women were discovered in a dry creek bed near the Cocks Comb Trailhead, while the third victim’s body was located in a shed in Lyman, Utah.

Law enforcement managed to apprehend Miller by tracing a key fob app linked to a Subaru owned by one of the deceased women.

Ivan Miller, 22, of Iowa, is facing three charges of aggravated murder in the deaths of three women in their 30s, 60s and 80s.

Two of the women were found dead in a dry creek bed near the Cocks Comb Trailhead, and the third was found in a shed in Lyman, Utah.

Officers tracked Miller down using an app to track the key fob of a Subaru belonging to one of the victims.

Miller allegedly told police he hit an elk in Utah, selling his truck to a towing company. He then stayed in a hotel for a few days before staying in the shed where the body of the 80-year-old victim was found.

Court documents show Miller told police that he killed the woman for her Buick, but did not like the car and wanted a different one.

He was parked when he noticed the other two victims get out of a Subaru, killed them, dragged them to a ditch and took the car, court documents state.

Miller said he committed the crime because he needed money and a vehicle to return to Iowa.
