A woman from Cleveland is facing a $2 million bond after being charged with the murder of her two daughters, whose bodies were found earlier this week concealed in suitcases, as reported by local station WJW.

Aliyah Henderson, aged 28, was formally charged on Thursday for the tragic deaths of her daughters, 10-year-old Amor Wilson and 8-year-old Mila Chatman. The court has set her bond at $1 million for each murder count she faces.

The discovery of the bodies occurred on Monday, March 2, when a person walking their dog stumbled upon the grim scene, the investigative team at WJW has revealed. Prosecutors stated on Friday that the remains were “badly decomposed,” and police have noted that the children are believed to have been buried for an extended period before being found.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the autopsies, though the official cause of death has not yet been released.

The bodies were discovered on Monday, March 2, by a dog walker, according to WJW’s investigative team. Prosecutors said Friday the girls were found “badly decomposed.” Police previously said the girls were believed to have been buried for “some time” before they were discovered.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office said that autopsies have been completed and the cause of death is pending.

Police said a child was also located in the home where the woman was taken into custody. The child was reportedly in good health and taken to the Department of Children and Family Services.

The father of one of the two young girls killed told WJW that he tried for six years to get his daughter back from the girl’s mother.

“I just feel useless. I couldn’t save my daughter,” the man, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the outlet.
