A tragic incident unfolded on Friday morning when a small plane, attempting an emergency landing, crashed onto the Los Altos Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico, resulting in one fatality and leaving another individual in critical condition, as confirmed by state police.
Responding to the scene just before 11:40 a.m. local time, New Mexico State Police and Albuquerque Fire Rescue discovered two individuals trapped inside the downed aircraft.
While the plane itself was not engulfed in flames, it had sustained substantial damage, as reported by the fire department.

The two passengers were swiftly transported to the hospital, where, unfortunately, one succumbed to their injuries, according to police statements.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed the plane was a Columbia 400.
New Mexico State Police said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The NTSB confirmed it will also investigate the crash.
