Melania Trump’s much-discussed documentary has quickly transitioned from theaters to streaming, with a premiere date now set for its online debut.

Titled Melania, the documentary provides a close-up look at the former first lady during the days leading up to President Trump’s anticipated second inauguration. The film promises an “intimate chronicle” of her life and relationship with the president. It hit theaters globally on January 31, grossing $16.6 million at the box office.

However, the documentary’s journey has been fraught with controversy from the start. Amazon MGM, under Jeff Bezos, paid a staggering $40 million for the film’s rights and reportedly invested another $35 million in marketing efforts.

Adding to the film’s contentious nature, it was directed by Brett Ratner, a filmmaker previously known for the Rush Hour series. Ratner faced multiple sexual harassment accusations in 2017 and was recently mentioned in connection with the Epstein files. Melania is his first directorial project since those allegations surfaced.

Although it performed well financially in theaters, the documentary has faced significant critical backlash. Jesse Hassenger from Decider described it as “placid and uneventful,” reflecting the general sentiment among critics.

But fans and skeptics will get to see the documentary for themselves as a streaming premiere date has officially been set. Here’s everything you need to know about where to watch Melania.
