Ayatollah Mozaffari, a member of Iran’s 88-member Assembly of Experts, has expressed optimism that a meeting could occur soon, potentially within the next day. However, as of now, no official gathering has been confirmed, according to reports from Iranian International.

Insiders have revealed to the outlet that Mojtaba Khamenei was anticipated to be declared the new leader on Saturday. Nevertheless, the session faced a setback when 14 Assembly of Experts members chose to boycott the proceedings.
Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is reportedly supported by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Despite this backing, there are concerns among some Assembly members about transferring leadership to the son of the long-serving ayatollah.
