In a tragic incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, an 11-year-old boy has been implicated in the fatal shooting of his mother’s boyfriend during a domestic dispute. Authorities report that the altercation took place late Thursday night.

Emergency services received a 911 call at approximately 11:40 p.m., directing police to the 1100-block of Peach Street in Southwest Philadelphia. Upon arrival, officers and medics discovered the 30-year-old man on the bedroom floor, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Despite efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The victim has been identified as Jaimeer Jones-Walker, a resident of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania.

According to investigators, the tragic events unfolded when Jones-Walker arrived at his girlfriend’s residence, where she lives with her children, and began assaulting her in the bedroom.

Investigators say Jones-Walker showed up at the house where his girlfriend lives with her children and began assaulting her in the bedroom.

According to police, that’s when her young son grabbed his mother’s gun and shot him.

Sources tell our Philadelphia sister station, 6ABC Action News, this started as an argument over the couple’s newborn baby, who is still in the hospital.

Police say the girlfriend, who lives on this block with her children, and her boyfriend were fighting over visitation and the confrontation turned violent.

The firearm was recovered by police at the scene.

Police say both the boy and his mother are cooperating with detectives and being interviewed by the homicide unit.

Officials are looking into whether there has been a history of domestic incidents where police have been called to the residence.

The incident remains under investigation. It’s not yet known if anyone will be charged.
