Massive Explosion at Dubai International Airport: Passengers Evacuated Amid Safety Concerns

Yesterday, travelers at Dubai International Airport found themselves seeking refuge in tunnels after what appeared to be an Iranian drone attack. This incident sent shockwaves through one of the world’s busiest airports, which serves as a critical hub for international travel across the Middle East.

Social media was quickly flooded with footage capturing the dramatic scene. In the videos, an explosion can be seen near the terminal, accompanied by a distinctive whirring sound just moments before the blast, adding to the chaos and confusion.

Blasts were heard in several parts of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, reports the Independent.

As the threat emerged, airport authorities swiftly directed passengers into train tunnels for safety, responding to the alert with urgency.

In the aftermath of this unsettling event, Emirates, the UAE’s flagship airline, temporarily halted all flights in and out of Dubai. However, operations resumed after a brief suspension, restoring a sense of normalcy to the airport’s bustling terminals.

A spokesperson for Dubai Airports confirmed the developments, stating, “Dubai Airports confirms partial resumption of operations from today, 7 March, with some flights operating out of Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).”

The apparent Iranian attack came after the country’s President apologised to neighbours in the region for striking them, declaring Iran would stop them and they had been caused by command chain miscommunications.

There were attacks yesterday in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
