Eva Mendes couldn’t contain her excitement as she gushed over “my man,” Ryan Gosling, after he treated her to a heartfelt birthday serenade on Thursday evening.
“A big thank you to @jimmyfallon and the @nbhs_bruins marching band,” Mendes shared on Instagram on Saturday, March 7, along with a candid snapshot of her and Gosling behind the scenes at “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
“What a lovely memory to cherish, and a special shoutout to all the educators present. Your importance is greater now than ever,” she added.
Concluding her message, she playfully addressed her longtime partner, “Lastly, my man… I’ll find a way to repay you for this.”
The couple made waves on Friday when Gosling, the 45-year-old “Hail Mary” actor, surprised Mendes by bringing her onstage during his interview segment.
The “Other Guys” star had been watching his interview from backstage before she was brought out by a staff member, giving the couple their first joint appearance on TV in more than a decade.
The “Training Day” actress walked out wearing the striped cardigan Gosling wore on “Jeopardy!” last month, wide-legged jeans and John Lennon and Yoko Ono shirt.
In the official surprise, Mendes was serenaded by a marching band with an upbeat performance of “Happy Birthday,” complete with confetti as the audience sang along.
Prior to the birthday surprise, Gosling joked with the crowd: “Here’s the thing, you might find me in the Hudson River tomorrow.”
Mendes and Gosling started dating after they met on the set of “The Place Beyond the Pines,” in 2012.
The co-stars have since welcomed two children: daughter Esmeralda, 11, and daughter Amada, 9.
Mendes later stepped away from acting to raise the little ones.
