SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Prepare for another misty evening followed by a warm Sunday, with scattered storms making an appearance later.
As winds decrease late Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday, patches of locally dense fog are likely to form. While widespread dense fog isn’t guaranteed, it’s advisable to drive cautiously through any fog patches that do develop.
Once the fog dissipates, expect a notably warm day. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s, with the heat index pushing into the 90s. It’s important to stay hydrated and take breaks if you’re out in the sun.

Although most of Sunday will remain dry, anticipate scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, fueled in part by a weakening front. While not a complete washout, it’s crucial to seek shelter indoors when you hear thunder, as lightning can strike far from the storm’s center.
Looking ahead to Monday, there’s a slight 20% chance of lingering morning showers, but overall, the weather pattern remains unchanged as the front lingers in the area.
Ironically, it will help us warm up since winds will be more westerly. This time of year, that keeps the cooler ocean waters from influencing the temperatures until the sea breeze rolls in for the afternoon.
Changes arrive midweek though as a cross-country storm system and cold front move into the region.
Timing of showers and storms will be adjusted, but a round of activity moves through the area Wednesday into Thursday, all before a cold front.

There is not much forecast confidence in any severe weather yet, as we are a few days out, but the best chance of strong storms will be further west, with leftovers making it into the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry at a minimum.
A big cool-down takes place as temperatures return to the seasonal average. Lows dip into the 40s, and highs may struggle to reach 70° on Friday.
