Sunday Rose, the emerging model and daughter of Nicole Kidman, has praised her mother as her “biggest inspiration in life.” Reflecting on her burgeoning career, the 17-year-old credits the acclaimed actress for shaping her path in the modeling world.

As the eldest child of Kidman and musician Keith Urban, Sunday revealed that her interest in modeling was sparked by accompanying her mother to numerous photoshoots. Growing up in such a vibrant environment, Sunday found herself drawn to the creative energy that surrounded her famous mother, now 58.

In a candid interview for the March issue of Elle Australia, where she graces the cover, Sunday shared, “I definitely gained a lot of interest from those experiences and especially being privileged enough to experience them at a young age.”

Beyond career guidance, Sunday expressed profound admiration for Kidman’s influence in her life, describing her mother as “a key part of everything I do.” The young model further emphasized, “My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life.”

‘My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life,’ the teen added.

She added that having a Hollywood actress and a Grammy-winning country singer as parents, has made her grow up with a determination to follow through with her dreams.

The eldest daughter of Nicole and Keith Urban, 17, said that she had been inspired to pursue a modelling career after growing up going to a slew of photoshoots with her famous mother, 58 (seen last month at NYFW)

‘Something that’s always been followed in my house is doing, not just saying,’ she explained. ‘It basically means that if you say you’re going to do something, stick to your word and do it. Don’t just talk about how much you want to, but actually put your mind to it and get it done.’

While Sunday added that the biggest piece of industry advice that Nicole had given her was to ‘always be on time’.

‘The biggest piece of industry advice Mum has given to me is to always be on time,’ she told the outlet.

‘There’s always going to be something with an early call time that you don’t want to get up for, but it’s really important to be on time because it shows that you’re prepared and grateful to be there.’

And further evidencing the level of regard that Sunday holds for her mother, she confessed that despite her current modelling pursuits, her dream is to work in film too.

She shared her hopes to study filmmaking at university, but admitted that rather than it being one of Nicole’s many screen projects that peaked her interest, it was 2019 Academy Award movie, Parasite, that first sparked her passion for movie-making.

Sunday’s gushing comments about her mother come after it was reported that she and her sister Faith Margaret, 15, had taken Nicole’s side in her shock split from Keith, 28.

The former couple stunned fans when they confirmed their marriage was over in September, ending a 19-year relationship that was widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s most stable.

Speculation has since swirled that Keith has moved on with 26-year-old rising country star, Karley Scott Collins, who opened for his 2025 High and Alive World Tour after collaborating on her 2024 duet Write One.

And according to celebrity reporter Rob Shuter, this development has prompted his daughters to firmly side with Nicole, with Sunday and Faith ‘refusing to meet Urban’s new girlfriend’ as a sign of loyalty to their mother.

A family friend told Shuter: ‘The girls are really focused on mum right now. They’re adjusting to all the changes, and it’s natural they want to protect their space.’

Meanwhile, Keith is ‘trying to balance his own life with his daughters’ needs’, another source divulged.

‘He wants them to be comfortable, but the girls’ priority is their mum and their own well-being.’

Sunday has followed in the footsteps of many celebrity offspring, by pursuing a career in modelling.

She runway debut when she was just 16 years old for Miu Miu during Paris Fashion Week 2024, and then went on to land a three-month campaign with the Italian fashion house, as well as a major campaign for watchmaker Omega.

This was despite her ‘overprotective’ dad Keith allegedly wanting her to hold off from entering the fashion industry until she’s older.

Most recently, Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson chose her to walk in his debut womenswear show and appear in his first coed campaign, and she presented him with the Designer of the Year prize at the British Fashion Awards.

And last weekend, Sunday showed off her strut at the Calvin Klein Fall 2026 show at New York Fashion Week.

Nicole showed her pride and support for her eldest as she reshared a video of the teen walking during the show to Instagram, writing: ‘New York Baby.’

However, critics were quick to call out her technique on the catwalk, accusing her of ‘stomping’ her way around the fashion circuit and accusing her of only being hired due to her famous parentage.

It came just five months after Sunday was roasted again online over her walk when she made her runway debut at PFW in October.

She opened the Miu Miu Paris Womenswear Spring-Summer 2025 show, which was attended by the likes of Willem Dafoe and Hillary Swank, as well as proud mum Nicole,

But Sunday Rose’s serious stomp quickly went viral on TikTok, with commenters suggesting she find another career path or take runway lessons, while complaining that another nepo baby had taken a spot from a unknown model.

‘Try painting or acting instead. This is not for her,’ one suggested, as another commenter agreed, ‘Oh please why be a model so many other things to do.’

‘I can hear the heels slapping the floor,’ one person critiqued, while another questioned ‘Who was her coach?’ and third quipped: ‘Looking like she’s walking down to her WWE match.’

‘Stop hiring average looking nepo babies who can’t walk! We need the hungry unknown girls from developing countries who are naturally STUNNING,’ one fashion fan said.

Someone else agreed: ‘This is unfair to girls who don’t have famous parents. This girl is no model’, while one user added: ‘She’s trying so hard to look fierce but just looks like a petulant child stomping their feet’.

Not everyone was so negative, with one person coming to her defense and writing, ‘She’s only 16 so don’t be too mean,’ although they added, ‘but nepotism is alive and well.’

‘Be kind to her she’s 16! Of course she’d agree!! Be angry at casting director,’ another defender echoed.

Nicole addressed her daughter’s runway debut to the The Hollywood Reporter two months later.

The film star admitted that she had advised against it at first but that Miuccia Prada, the founder of Miu Miu, convinced her to let Sunday Rose partake in the show.

‘But Miuccia just loved her and was like, ‘No, I want her.’ And Miuccia is so powerful as a woman. So that was a good match,’ Nicole told the outlet.

She said that trusted Miuccia’s expertise because she’s known the 75-year-old billionaire fashion mogul since she was 23 years old.
