The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that a man was shot in the shoulder outside but managed to seek refuge in a nearby apartment.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect linked to a shooting that took place Sunday evening at a Westside apartment complex.
The shooting occurred at the Valencia Way Apartments situated on Labelle Street. Law enforcement responded promptly after receiving multiple reports of gunshots around 6:15 p.m. within the complex.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male in his early 20s with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, which was deemed non-life-threatening.
Preliminary findings indicate that the victim was shot while outside near an apartment building. Despite his injury, he managed to reach a nearby unit, where the resident contacted the authorities to report the incident.
Nine used shell casings were found at the scene, JSO said.
Descriptions of the suspect or suspects are limited. Police say they may have been wearing all black clothing and a red face covering at the time of the shooting.
