The cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was skeptical about Sutton Stracke’s intentions when she suggested rooming with Amanda Frances during their trip to Italy.

Sutton, 54, shared her reasons for reaching out, while Amanda, 41, reflected on the offer and discussed their current friendship status. Meanwhile, fellow cast members Rachel Zoe, 54, Dorit Kemsley, 49, Bozoma “Boz” Saint John, 49, Jennifer Tilly, 67, and Erika Jayne, 54, expressed doubts about Sutton’s sincerity.
“It feels weird,” Rachel confessed during the March 5 episode of the RHOBH: After Show.
Dorit echoed this sentiment, adding, “It was very weird. Suspicious. I think she made that move not out of the goodness and kindness of her heart.”

Meanwhile, after Boz labeled Sutton’s behavior as “strategic,” Jennifer, too, suggested that Sutton may have had “some sort of nefarious plan up her sleeve” before clarifying that she believed it was “nice” of Sutton to reach out and try to make her feel more comfortable.
“I think we should all show grace to other people whenever we can,” she reasoned. “[But] with this group, a lot of times you’re always suspecting that maybe somebody has an ulterior motive.”
According to Erika, she felt Sutton “was trying to get good girl points.” But Sutton insisted, “I was not.”
As for what prompted the olive branch, Sutton revealed she had grown upset by Amanda being on the outs with the group.
“I noticed the further the summer went along, the more isolated she was becoming. And I could see myself in that,” she shared. “When both Garcelle and I came on, [the cast was] very tight … [The cast was] really, really tight, and I guess Lisa had exited the show, Lisa Vanderpump, and so there was a camaraderie there that was very hard to infiltrate.”
“That’s why I give Amanda grace,” Kyle Richards, 57, replied. “She’s coming into this group that’s been here for … [years].”
Looking back, Sutton said that she knew she had to intervene.
“I just saw it, I recognized it, and I thought, I can do better,” she explained.
During the trip, Sutton not only agreed to bunk with Amanda. She also attempted to mend things between her and the cast.
“I tried to tell her, ‘One of the things that I think is bothering everybody … You talk about your business a lot. We didn’t hear the story behind this business. It was just like, business. That’s why we’re not really into your business because it doesn’t feel connected to you.’ She was like ‘Oh well, I guess I’ve just been doing it so long, I hadn’t really thought about the connection anymore.’”
In her own segment, Amanda admitted she was “confused” by Sutton’s request to stay together.
“We didn’t have the greatest time at my manifestation lunch. I really didn’t get it. I didn’t get what she was getting at. But you know, she looked me in the eyes, and she said, ‘I’ve been where you are. You need a friend,’” she shared. “I felt like I almost manifested it because I kept saying, ‘No, I believe in Sutton Brown.’ She’s saying that she wants to turn a corner. She’s saying that there’s other sides of her. I sense that there’s a sharpness on the outside and a softness on the inside. I sensed this about her. I’m not normally wrong about people, so when she was that way to me, I just felt like, ‘I knew this was in you.’”
As for where they stand today, Amanda and Sutton seemed to be on different pages, with Amanda stating that Sutton was “sincere” and … [has] been [her] friend every time I’ve seen her since, show and not show related,” Sutton described them as “acquaintances.”
