Grace Le Domas (played by Samara Weaving, also known for her role as Bill’s daughter in “Bill and Ted Face the Music”) ranks among the iconic final girls in horror cinema. She’s made a return, unwavering in her defiance against the affluent and their sinister ties. Curious about her ordeal in “Ready or Not” and why she’s once again on a mission? Our featured video delves into Grace’s transformation from a blissful bride to a fierce, independent fighter.

The sequel, “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,” resumes the narrative right after Grace’s clash with the Le Domas family. Now going by her maiden name, MacCaullay, she discovers that her battle is far from over. Other wealthy families, too, have bargained with dark forces for power. Thrust into yet another deadly game, Grace now faces four families, not just one. Unexpectedly, her sister Faith (Kathryn Newton, known for her role as Margaret in “The Map of Tiny Perfect Things”) is caught up in this chaotic struggle. However, the two MacCaullay sisters might just be a formidable duo against the Danforths, and Grace could potentially seize the High Seat of the Council, putting her in a position to influence global affairs.

The original “Ready or Not” was a financial triumph, grossing over $57 million from a modest $6 million budget, prompting Searchlight Features to continue Grace’s saga. The film was well-received, earning an 89% approval rating from critics. With “Here I Come,” the aim is to capture the same thrilling success, as Grace once again fights for survival after enduring a nightmarish ordeal.

In “Ready or Not,” Grace marries Alex (Mark O’Brien), the middle child of the Le Domas family. On the night of her wedding, she is roped into a peculiar tradition involving a mysterious puzzle box linked to a shadowy figure known as Le Bail. Drawing the hide-and-seek card, Grace initially indulges the family’s eccentric custom, seeking a hiding spot within their sprawling mansion while the family arms themselves.

It soon dawns on Grace that this seemingly playful game is a deadly trap. The Le Domas family is under a curse: if a new family member selects the hide-and-seek card, they must be sacrificed. Should the family fail to hunt and kill her before dawn, they will face death instead. Determined to survive until morning, Grace resolves not to surrender her life or her weapons for the sake of her new husband or his kin.

The original “Ready or Not” made over $57 million on a $6 million budget, so it’s no wonder why Searchlight Features has brought Grace back for another adventure. Critics largely loved Grace’s travails, too, and giving the first film an 89% approval score. “Here I Come” looks to replicate Grace’s success — and she certainly went through a lot to survive her first hellish night.

Grace walked through fire to get her happy ending

In “Ready or Not,” Grace is freshly married to Alex (Mark O’Brien), the middle Le Domas child. She learns on her wedding night that she will be asked to participate in an old family tradition and draw a card from a puzzle box belonging to an enigmatic figure named Le Bail. Having plucked the hide-and-seek card, Grace humors Alex’s folks and looks for a safe place to hide out in the cavernous mansion — while the whole household gathers their weapons.

Grace quickly figures out that the seemingly innocent game she’s been conned into playing is actually a fight for her life. The Le Domas clan is cursed: if the newest member of the family selects the hide-and-seek card, that person must be sacrificed. If the rest of the family fail to find her and kill her by the time the sun rises, they will die in her place. She must survive until dawn, and Grace has no intention of laying down her life and arms to please her new husband or his family.
