TOLONO, Ill. — Tyler and Brayden Henry have been showcasing their remarkable synergy, not just as twins, but as lifelong teammates, propelling Unity High School to state finals in both basketball and football this year.

The Henry twins serve as guards on the basketball team and play wide receiver/defensive back positions on the football squad. Unity High enjoyed a stellar 12-1 season, advancing to the Class 2A state championship in football, and they are now competing for the boys’ basketball title.

“Reaching state finals twice, in both basketball and football, is nothing short of incredible,” Brayden Henry remarked.

Achieving such milestones as twin brothers is a childhood dream come true for the Henrys, who are poised to step onto the court at the State Farm Center.

“I remember my brother and I would play in our front yard, imagining ourselves in the final seconds of a state championship, passing the ball to each other for the win,” Tyler Henry recalled. “It’s surreal to think that this dream could actually become a reality.”

Unity plays Peoria Manual in the state semifinals on Thursday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m.
