NORFOLK, Va. — Old Dominion University has issued an urgent alert regarding an active threat at Constant Hall, prompting immediate safety measures.

The alert, which was swiftly communicated to both students and faculty, stated: “O.D.U. Urgent Alert: Active threat reported at Constant Hall. Follow Run-Hide-Fight protocols. Emergency personnel responding. Avoid area.”

University authorities have confirmed that police and emergency teams are on site dealing with the incident as it unfolds.

Kimberly Osborne, Vice President for University Communications and Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “We have an active threat on campus. Police and emergency responders are on scene. Additional details will be provided as soon as possible.”

Osborne added that the next update from the university is expected at 11:30 a.m.

According to officials, Norfolk Police are also on scene responding to the active incident at the university.
