On Wednesday night, Disneyland was the focus of significant police activity following reports of a mass shooting at the iconic amusement park. The situation, however, unfolded as something quite different from what initial alerts suggested.

The specifics surrounding the incident remain scarce, and the exact time of the police response has not been disclosed. Nevertheless, visuals captured by KTLA depicted a considerable number of Anaheim Police Department vehicles stationed within Disneyland’s premises, indicating the seriousness with which authorities approached the situation.

Sergeant Matt Sutter of the Anaheim Police Department addressed the media, explaining that investigators suspected the incident to be a case of “swatting.” This term refers to a dangerous prank where a false emergency, such as an active shooter or bomb threat, is reported, leading to the deployment of police SWAT teams. Despite the hoax, police thoroughly examined the area, prioritizing safety and erring on the side of caution.
