A Florida woman is in custody following a shocking incident involving her sister, and her arrest has captured attention due to an unusual mugshot. Magdalena Dybkowska, a 34-year-old mother of three, was detained on March 9 and taken to the Broward County Jail, charged with attempted murder among other offenses.

Dybkowska is facing charges that include attempted murder, criminal attempt, solicitation, or conspiracy, as well as resisting an officer without violence, as stated in court documents reviewed by Oxygen.

The incident unfolded after North Lauderdale police responded to a 911 call reporting distressing noises. The caller described hearing a woman across the street screaming and a loud sound akin to a gunshot, according to a complaint affidavit obtained by Oxygen.

In a twist that has garnered widespread attention, Dybkowska’s mugshot shows her smirking at the camera, with prominent tattoos visible on her face and neck. Among these are a heart under her eye, the numbers “777,” and a heart monitor line etched on her neck.

Police in North Lauderdale had responded to a 911 caller who stated that “a lady across the street is screaming,” according to a complaint affidavit obtained by Oxygen, and that she heard a loud “pop” consistent with a gunshot sound.

The neighbor claimed in the affidavit that “an unknown female began banging on her front door before entering a vehicle and fleeing the area,” leaving a backpack in her yard with blood on it.

When Dybkowska answered the door for police, per the affidavit, they observed blood on the floor and asked her to step outside, however she refused. After a struggle, Dybkowska was placed in handcuffs. Inside the home, police found Dybkowska’s three minor children, read the document, and there was blood on the couch.

Police contacted Dybkowska’s sister, who had been admitted to HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac with a gunshot wound, read the affidavit, along with her boyfriend.

Authorities learned that the women had been arguing and physically fighting, and that attempts to separate them were unsuccessful. During the altercation, per the document, Dybkowska “produced an unknown make/model firearm and shot the victim in the shoulder at close range.”

“The victim sustained an entry and exit wound to her left arm,” read the affidavit, though she refused to talk about her sister when questioned by police.

The Florida Department of Children and Families responded to the scene, per the affidavit, and removed the children from the home.

An attorney for Dybkowska did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Oxygen. It is unclear whether Dybkowska has entered a plea.
