Visitors to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa are already treated to a host of engaging activities, but the popular SeaTREK excursion is about to get even more thrilling. This unique underwater adventure allows participants to dive into the aquarium’s second-largest tank with just a helmet, eliminating the need for SCUBA certification or swimming skills.

With spring break on the horizon, the aquarium is enhancing the SeaTREK experience by introducing a new fish feeding activity. After marveling at the diverse marine life, exploring the sea cave, and observing the resident fish, turtles, and eagle rays, guests will have the chance to partake in this interactive feeding session.

As the guides distribute fish food, the tank comes alive with a flurry of activity as 1,500 fish eagerly converge for a meal, creating a captivating feeding frenzy. This interactive moment brings visitors closer to the underwater world, offering a unique opportunity to observe some of the smaller fish species in a more intimate setting.

“It’s truly exhilarating to witness,” said Becca Brown, SeaTREK coordinator. “Some of the smaller fish, which might have gone unnoticed before, suddenly make a memorable appearance.”

“It is really exciting to see because some of the smaller fish you might not have seen before are coming closer,” Becca Brown, SeaTREK coordinator, said.

This is an awesome learning experience for kids as young as ten years old, and for someone who might not be ready to learn how to scuba dive. You can read more on this experience and the others offered on their website.

For spring break only, the aquarium is expanding the availability of SeaTREK to five time slots per day, seven days a week. Normally, this is only offered on Saturdays and Sundays. You can sign up for a time slot here.
