FBI Questions Tucson Restaurant Staff in Ongoing Search for Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mother

This week, FBI agents made their way to a Mexican restaurant in Tucson, aiming to gather insights from employees regarding the mysterious disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, a mother from Arizona.

Agents spent Wednesday and Thursday questioning workers at a restaurant where Nancy Guthrie previously had lunch with her daughter, “Today” show host, Savannah Guthrie, “Crime Stories” host Nancy Grace reports.

The Guthrie family was known to have dined at this restaurant last November. Their visit was even captured on film by the “Today” show, during a segment featuring Savannah revisiting places from her childhood.

Jacksonville State University’s Forensics Professor, Joseph Scott Morgan, shared with Grace that federal agents probably suspect the restaurant holds crucial information that warrants closer scrutiny.

“The FBI clearly possesses some knowledge about this case. They believe there’s significant information to be found there,” Morgan explained.

This investigative move was prompted by the discovery that someone had searched Google for details on Savannah Guthrie’s salary and Nancy Guthrie’s address in Catalina Foothills.

“The restaurant search expands the periphery of folks she that was interacting with,” Director of Operations for USPA Nationwide Security, Brian Fitzgibbons, told Grace.

“Is someone at that restaurant focused on learning what the net worth of Savannah is and what the potential value value of a ransom for Nancy would be?”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after family members dropped her off at home after dinner.

They reported her missing the following day after she failed to show up for church.

The FBI subsequently released images and videos of a suspect, obtained from Guthrie’s Nest camera.

The restaurant interviews come after DNA on a black glove found near Nancy Guthrie’s home had been linked to a worker at a nearby restaurant, although the name of that establishment has not been revealed.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously stated that investigators interviewed the restaurant employee and found they have “nothing to do with the case,” ABC News reports.

Meanwhile, over $1 million is being offered in the case.
