Greg Russo, portrayed by Steve Carell, has firmly planted his feet in HBO’s latest comedy series, Rooster, by the second episode.
In the debut episode of this college campus-themed comedy, crafted by Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses, viewers were introduced to the storyline of Greg Russo, a successful author, who visits Ludlow College. His purpose? To address the students and check on his daughter, Katie (played by Charly Clive), who is dealing with personal turmoil. Her husband Archie (Phil Dunster) has been unfaithful, involved with a graduate student named Sunny (Lauren Tsai). Although Greg originally intended to depart once he confirmed his daughter’s well-being, Episode 2 introduces a twist that keeps him around.
The synopsis for the second episode, titled “Trousers,” teases, “When Katie’s future at Ludlow is thrown into question, Walt offers Greg a deal to keep them both on campus.”
As highlighted in Decider’s comprehensive review, “If you’re a fan of either Lawrence or Carell, Rooster is undoubtedly a must-watch.” If you haven’t yet tuned in, consider this your cue to start watching! For those who enjoyed the pilot and are anxiously awaiting more, this episode promises satisfaction.
