Iran’s new Supreme Leader is ‘in good health’ and ‘fully controlling the situation’, says Iranian foreign minister

In a recent interview with the London-based pan-Arab news outlet Alaraby Aljadeed, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi assured that Mojtaba Khamenei is in “good health” and is “fully in control” of the current situation.

Araghchi expressed Iran’s openness to any “regional initiative” aimed at achieving a just resolution to the ongoing conflict. He emphasized that the strategic Strait of Hormuz remains accessible to all, with the notable exception of ships from the United States and its allies.

Despite Iran’s willingness to engage in dialogue, Araghchi noted that “there is no specific initiative currently on the table to end the war.”

Since his appointment on March 8, Mojtaba Khamenei has not made any public appearances, raising questions about his visibility.

His inaugural public message was delivered via a state media broadcast on March 12, read aloud by a presenter.

In an interview with NBC News yesterday, the president questioned whether Iran’s new supreme leader is ‘even alive’.

He said: ‘I don’t know if he’s even alive. So far, nobody’s been able to show him…

‘The only one making a presentation is they read a so-called statement from him.

‘I’m hearing he’s not alive, and if he is, he should do something very smart for his country, and that’s surrender… Some of them think he’s alive but very badly wounded.’
