Chet Hanks made a notable appearance at a pre-Oscars event alongside his mother, Rita Wilson, marking his return to the spotlight following his recent claims of being stranded in Colombia. The event took place more than two weeks after the incident.
The model was seen trailing behind the actress as they arrived at the high-profile CAA party on Saturday evening, joining a host of other celebrities.
For the occasion, Hanks looked sharp in a sleek all-black suit, exuding a polished and sophisticated style.
Meanwhile, Rita Wilson, aged 69, opted for a chic all-black ensemble as well. Her outfit included a silk shirt, a stylish skirt, and a cropped blazer, showcasing her timeless fashion sense.
Wilson, known for her role in “Sleepless in Seattle,” shares Chet, 35, and another son, Truman, 30, with her husband, the esteemed actor Tom Hanks, also 69.
The “Forrest Gump” actor is also a father to Colin, 48, and E.A., 43, with his ex Samantha Lewes.
Last month, Chet shared that he was stranded in South America after traveling to Puerto Rico for a pal’s birthday party.
The “Fantastic Four” star took to Instagram to explain how he then took a detour to Colombia to visit a friend.
“I’m traveling with my Greek passport because I’m a dual citizen,” he said, explaining that he didn’t bring his American passport because it was going to expire.
“And sometimes they don’t let you in the country, even if it hasn’t expired, but it’s about to expire,” Chet added.
“I go to the airport to check in [for] my flight three hours early,” he continued. “This is an international flight. They tell me that if I’m using a foreign passport, I need a green card to get back into America.”
The “Project X” star shared how he didn’t have a green card because he is an American citizen, and now he was “literally stuck in Colombia.”
“Granted, there’s worse places to be stuck, but I literally have no f–king idea what I’m gonna do, and the only embassy to get this s–t settled is in Bogota,” he said.
Chet appeared to make the best out of his time abroad, sharing a photodump of himself in Colombia earlier this month.
“Getting out of Colombia: failure Being stuck in Colombia: success Te veo pronto 🇨🇴✌🏻,” he captioned the post.
