CSRA Schools to Close on Monday, March 16th

CSRA Alert: Here’s a comprehensive list of educational institutions opting for virtual learning or closures due to adverse weather conditions expected on Monday, March 16, 2026.

GEORGIA

Augusta Technical College: All physical campuses of Augusta Technical College will be closed on Monday. The institution will transition to virtual classes and remote work for staff.

Briarwood Academy: Briarwood Academy will not hold classes on Monday, March 16, in anticipation of severe weather, amidst uncertain timing of the storms impacting our area.

Burke County Public Schools: All schools in the Burke County district will be closed on Monday, March 16, due to predicted severe weather and possible dangerous road conditions. This closure also extends to all extracurricular activities.

Columbia County School District: Closed for previously scheduled District Professional Learning Day.

Glascock County School System: Glascock County Schools will be closed Monday, March 16 due to predicted weather conditions . This decision was made with the best interest of students and staff in mind. We anticipate returning to normal operations Tuesday, March 17.

McDuffie County School Systems: Closed for previously scheduled winter student holiday. Classes will resume March 17.

Richmond County Public School System: Based on current and projected weather conditions, all Richmond County School System schools and offices will be closed on Monday, March 16. After-school activities and athletic events on Monday are canceled. We will provide an update on Tuesday, March 17 operations no later than Monday evening.

Thomas Jefferson Academy: CLOSED.

Warren County Schools: Warren County Schools will close Monday, March 16, 2026, due to inclement weather conditions. The safety and welfare of our students, staff, and community remain our top priority.

Washington County Public School System: At-home learning day. They anticipate returning to normal operations Tuesday, March 17.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Aiken County Public School Systems: In abundance of caution and with safety at the forefront, tomorrow, Monday, March 16, will be an e-learning day for students and a remote work day for employees.

Allendale County School Systems: An e-learning day will take place on Monday, March 16th. Students should log in to their classes and complete assignments per their teacher. Teachers will be making contact with each of their students during the course of the day. Teachers will be available during normal school hours to provide support and answer any questions.

Aiken Technical College: ATC is closely monitoring local weather forecasts for Monday, March 16. Currently, the College plans to continue with normal operations, including regularly scheduled classes and labs. Any changes will be announced via the college’s communications system, website, and official social media pages.

Barnwell County School District: Barnwell County School District will operate as an eLearning Day tomorrow, March 16th. Families should look for additional information being shared directly from their child’s school (through ParentSquare) regarding eLearing expectations. All after school activities have been cancelled.

Edgefield County Schools: DISTRICT TO CLOSE MONDAY (3/16) DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER THREAT

Horse Creek Academy: E-learning Day.

Johnson County School System: Students will have an e-learning day on Monday, March 16th. All students and staff will participate virtually at home. All after school activities have been cancelled.

McCormick County Schools: Students will be on an e-learning day Monday March 16th. This is due to the severe weather and high winds that are forecasted to move through our area tomorrow, making conditions unsafe for school buses to operate.
